Day 3 Thursday - PLITVICE

After breakfast, we tour Plitvice Lakes National Park on the UNESCO’s List of World Natural Heritage. Sixteen lakes, each at the different level, are joined in a series of cascading waterfalls. Surrounded by dense wood Plitvice Lakes are a natural phenomenon of a rare and unique beauty. Dinner and overnight in Plitvice.

Day 4 Friday PLITVICE – TROGIR – SPLIT

Morning departure for Trogir where we visit the Cathedral of St Lawrence. Continuation to Split; city tour of Split, including Diocletian’s Palace on the UNESCO’s List of World Cultural Heritage with Peristyle, Jupiter’s Temple and the Cathedral. Dinner and overnight in Split.

Day 4 Wednesday OHRID (km 60)

Full day in lakeside resort Ohrid classified as UNESCO`s World Cultural Heritage site. Through the activity
of St. Clement and St Naum of Ohrid, the first pan-Slavic University in Europe ,the famous” Ohrid Literary
School” was founded here. Morning sightseeing tour includes the church of St Sofia(11.th century)
the most eminent medieval monument in Macedonia with magnificent Byzantine fresco paintings and
St Clement Church with its icon of Annunciation.
Afternoon short drive to visit to St Naum Monastery built on the shores of the Ohrid Lake in 900 A.D.
dedicated to the Slavic missionary and educator St. Naum of Ohrid. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Thursday OHRID – SKOPJE (km 180)

Morning departure to Skopje. Sightseeing tour of Skopje including the Kale Fortress, Church of the Holy
Savior with its iconostas, one of the finest samples of traditional walnut woodcarving, Old bazaar and
Stone Bridge. We drive to the slopes of the Vodno Mountain where we visit the Monastery of St Panteleimon
With its 12 century iconostas and frescoes ranking among the highest achievements of Byzantine art of
this period. Dinner and overnight in Skopje.

Day 6 Friday SKOPJE – KOLASIN /Montenegro (km 300)

Morning departure to Kolasin , driving via Pec and Berane and along the impressive Moraca River
Canyon. Afternoon arrival at Kolasin , spreading on the left bank of the river Tara, situated at 954 m
altitude. The whole area is surrounded by the thick pine forest of the Bjelasica Mountain and is a popular
skiing and air spa resort . Dinner and overnight in Kolasin.

Day 7 Saturday KOLASIN – CETINJE – KOTOR – DUBROVNIK (km 265)

Morning departure to Cetinje where we visit the Cetinje Monastery built in 1701 , once the spiritual and
political center of Montenegro and the King Nicholas Museum, once residence of the Montenegrian King
Nicholas I Petrovic. Continuation to Budva and to Kotor, classified UNESCO`s World Cultural Heritage
where we visit its Romanesque Cathedral dedicated to St Triphun, the city’s patron saint.

We continue to Dubrovnik driving along the picturesque Bay of Kotor. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.

Then depart with the tour guide to visit the High Dam, one of the biggest dams in the world and was an engineering miracle when it was built in the 1960′s. Then proceed to the Unfinished Obelisk, a huge obelisk incompletely carved – 41 meters high – that shows the techniques the ancient Egyptians used in carving obelisks. Afterwards move on to visit the Philae Temple which was dedicated to goddess Isis. It’s now reassembled at a new site on Agilika Island about 500km from its former site on Philae Island. (If time allows, additional/alternative morning excursions can be added to Abu Simbel or a felucca ride to view Elephantine Island, the Plantation “Kitcheners” Island and Agha Khan Mausoleum). Overnight onboard Nile Cruise.

DAY 04 – Kom Ombo and Edfu:
The cruise sails to Kom Ombo & upon arrival visit The Temple of Sobek & Haroeris, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. The temple stands at a bend in the Nile where in ancient times sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the river bank. Return to the cruise & sail to Edfu. On arrival visit the Temple of Horus, the largest and most complete preserved Temple combining Pharaonic and Greek architectures. Overnight onboard cruise.

DAY 05 – Luxor and the West Bank:
Sail to Esna and Luxor. Upon arrival to Luxor, move to the West Bank of the Nile to visit the Valley of Kings & Queens, a vast City of the dead where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks and filled with treasures for the afterlife by generations of Pharaohs. Then proceed to the foot of the cliff to see the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman who ruled Egypt in Pharaonic History. On the way back to the River Nile, your road passes by the famed Colossi of Memnon, known in Ancient Greek times for their haunting voices at dawn. Return back to cruise and evening at leisure. DAY 06 – Sleeper train from Luxor to Cairo:
After breakfast it is time to disembark from the cruise (around 10am). You will then have free time at leisure in Luxor until the early evening (around 8pm) before transfer to the Luxor Rail Station for departure on the overnight sleeper train to Cairo. Overnight onboard train, dinner included. -Optional extra excursion to visit Luxor Temple & Karnak Temple is also available if you wish.

DAY 07 – Day at leisure in Cairo:

DAY 07 – Explore Santorini at leisure:
Today you again have a free day at leisure to relax or explore around the capital of the island, Fira. Other options include visiting the various beaches with black, red and gold coloured sand or maybe you prefer to take a cable car or donkey ride up the cliff. Overnight in Santorini.

DAY 08 – Santorini to Athens by ferry or flight:
Breakfast, check-out and free time at leisure until transfer to the port to board the standard or highspeed ferry for return to Athens (flights also available). On arrival meet at the port/airport for transfer to the hotel and check-in. Overnight in Athens.

DAY 09 – Day at leisure in Athens:
Breakfast with the day and evening at leisure to explore around Athens on your own.

DAY 10 – Departure:
Breakfast, check out and as per your flight time transfer to Athens International Airport.

CAPERNAUM, the Good News arrive to the Galileans. SAIL across the Sea of Galilee to debark in TIBERIAS. MOUNT TABOR – Church of Transfiguration. CANNA where Jesus performed His first miracle in the famous Wedding of Canna.

Day 3
NAZARETH – site of the Annunciation and early childhood of Jesus. Sacred Family’s house and the Church of St. Joseph’s Carpentry. ACRE, cradle of the Crusader’s kingdom in the Holy Land and the place where St. Francis of Assisi disembarked. HAIFA: Largest commercial port, famous Bahai gardens and STELLA MARIS Carmelite Monastery on the slopes of Mount Carmel, the Virgin of Carmel. CAESAREA – baptism of the Roman Cormelius, departing of Saint Paul to Rome to be judged. Old Roman Theatre and remains of the Hippodrome.

Day 4
MOUNT OF OLIVES – a magnificent panoramic view of Jerusalem, Temple Mount, the Kidron riverbed. Church of PATER NOSTER where Jesus taught his disciples how to pray the Lord’s prayer; DOMINUS FLEVIS Church, where Jesus predicts the destruction of the Temple, CHURCH OF ALL NATIONS (also known as the BASILICA OF THE AGONY), Garden of Gethsemane; TOMB OF THE VIRGIN on the banks of the Kidron river. SAN PEDRO GALLEGANTI; house of Caiaphas, where the night trial was conducted, MOUNT ZION, place of the LAST SUPPER and the BASILICA OF THE DORMITION.

Day 5
The Old City: St. ANNE’S CHURCH and the Bethesda pool with Byzantine and Crusader ruins. Via Dolorosa with its 14 Stations of the Cross, culminating in the HOLY SEPULCHER. WAILING WALL and the TEMPLE MOUNT, including the Dome of the Rock.

Day 6
EIN KAREM Church of the Visitation: Meeting place of the Virgin Mary with her cousin Elizabeth. Church of ST. JOHN on the Mountain, birthplace of John the Baptist. BETHLEHEM: Church of the NATIVITY, Nativity Grotto, St. Jerome’s Grotto, where he translated the Bible. SHEPHERDS’ FIELD, where the Holy Family found shelter on its return to Jerusalem.
